1. Who we are

The Currency Stack (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates thecurrencystack.com (the “Site”), an independent educational resource on foreign exchange, precious metals, and cryptocurrency. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us about privacy at hello@thecurrencystack.com.

2. What we collect and why

We only collect the information we need to run the Site and your membership:

  • Account details (your name and email address) — to create and manage your free or paid account. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Payment information — paid memberships are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive your subscription status and limited information such as the last four digits of your card. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
  • Email preferences — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send it. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Usage data — basic analytics about how the Site is used, such as pages viewed and device and browser type, collected through cookies. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the Site working well and secure.

3. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to secure the Site, and analytics cookies (via Google) to understand how the Site is used. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the providers that help us run the Site: our payment provider (Stripe), our hosting and email provider (Hostinger), and our analytics provider (Google). We may also disclose information where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and payment records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@thecurrencystack.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

8. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
